Olympus XA3 |
The
Olympus XA3 is really a slightly updated version of the XA2 which has
received some useful extra features. The most useful of these is the
provision of a backlight compensation setting on the battery test /
self timer lever. This adds about half a stop extra exposure to the
programmed setting determined by the camera’s metering system so
that when you are photographing a backlit or light background subject
the shot is not underexposed. This is very useful on an auto only
camera. The other additions for the XA3 are a 1600 ASA manual film
speed setting and automatic DX film speed setting if you use DX coded
film. Having a 1600 ASA setting is fantastic for this camera as it is
so small and inconspicuous that available light street photography is
its natural application and the extra turn of speed makes getting the
images that much easier. |
